Founding Membership Policy
Welcome to the club. No secret knock required.
You’re one of the first to test-drive our brand-new monthly memberships—making you a bona fide Founding Member (should you choose to become one). Your membership includes 4, 8, or 12 Pilates equipment classes per month at a discounted per-class rate. It’s perfect for anyone looking to stay consistent, committed, and save a little cash along the way.
The Fine Print (aka the part you’ll want to read carefully!):
-
All memberships include a one-time, non-refundable $25 set-up fee. This helps ensure our limited reformer spots are reserved for members who are genuinely ready to commit to their Pilates practice. (We’re trying to avoid dabblers.)
-
Founding Members agree to a 3-month minimum commitment. After that, you can cancel anytime.
-
Memberships auto-renew every month—set it and forget it.
-
Unused classes do not roll over. They expire after 1 month.
-
Members may pause their membership up to twice per calendar year, for a maximum of one month per pause.
-
Memberships cannot be canceled or paused online. To make changes, you have to contact the studio at speakeasypilates@gmail.com.
-
Outside of canceling or pausing a membership, members are responsible for managing their own class bookings. The studio does not schedule or remove members from classes on their behalf.
-
Billing occurs on the day of the month you originally signed up (e.g. you signed up on the 10th, you renew on the 10th).
-
You must give at least 7 days’ notice before the next billing date to cancel or pause a membership. Example: If your billing date is June 10 and you want to cancel for July, you’ll need to notify us by June 3. If you notify us after June 3, you’ll still be charged for July—and your membership will officially end in August.
-
Retroactive pauses (i.e., pausing your membership after you’ve already missed classes) aren’t allowed.
-
No refunds, partial refunds or prorated credits for unused classes.
-
4-Pack and 8-Pack memberships are non-transferable—no sharing, no tagalongs, no “my friend’s in town, can she take my spot?”
-
12-Pack members may gift one class per month to a friend or family member, provided the studio is notified in advance and the guest signs the necessary waivers.
-
Guest passes don’t roll over to the next month.
-
Memberships are currently limited to 6 per tier (18 total, consider it a soft launch). If you can’t sign up, it means we’re full—but not forever.
-
If the studio cancels a class you were booked for, your class credit will be returned to your account.
-
Our booking system doesn’t currently offer priority booking for members; it’s still first-come, first-serve for members and non-members alike.
-
Members may book classes up to one month in advance. We recommend doing so shortly after your membership auto-renews to ensure the best selection of class times that month.
-
It's important to book for the schedule you have, not the one you wish you had. If your calendar’s already squeezed, becoming an 8-Pack or 12-Pack Member might just leave you with more reformer regret than reformer love. Remember: Classes expire after 1 month and don’t roll over.
-
Members are encouraged to join the waitlist for full classes. If a spot opens up, we do our best to prioritize members. While the booking system doesn’t automatically grant priority access to members, we manually monitor the waitlist and will make every effort to offer available spots to active members first—when possible.
-
All members are subject to the studio’s 12-hour cancellation policy. Late cancels and no-shows are charged the full amount of the missed class.
-
If you cancel your membership and decide to rejoin later, your new rate will reflect any price increases that occurred during your time away.
-
You will need to sign, date and check a box to confirm you agree to these terms. Because even speakeasies have rules!
